Hi, I’m Weldon Hurt with Pest Patrol. During the wetter months throughout the year, we have several calls about mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are a problem and mosquitoes do carry diseases. So it is a problem that you need to deal with. At Pest Patrol, we offer a new In2Care Mosquito program, which we actually put out mosquito traps or canisters, as we call them, that has a fungus and a growth regulator. And when a gravid female enters this canister, she’s hit with a burst of this dust, it’s statically charged and she gets a burst of the dust and an IGR. She then carries that IGR back to the harborage area and anywhere there’s moisture, water standing water, that she’s depositing eggs, she’s going to contaminate that area with this IGR and that means 98% of those eggs will never hatch to become adults. So you’re killing 98% of your mosquito problem at the source. We also like to put a residual around your home and harborage areas, shrubs and things like that. We like to do a good visual inspection to make sure there’s no harborage areas—standing waters, bird baths, pet foods, things like that.
