Well, we've had some really wet weather as of late and here at Pest Patrol, the phones have really lit up!
One of the highest volume calls right now are concerns with those pesky, annoying and disease carrying mosquitoes. We all need to practice safe measures when these critters are abundant.
- Eliminate standing water.
- Keep lawn and alleys well maintained.
- Reduce ground cover and lift bottoms of shrubs.
- Use natural repellents.
- Wear mosquito repellent with DEET when outdoors.
- Avoid being outside at dawn and dusk.
At Pest Patrol, we have an excellent mosquito program. It's the In2Care method in which we use the gravid female to "contaminate" breeding sources killing 98% of the mosquitoes before they become adults.
We have had great success with this program, but I caution that NO mosquito program will guarantee you won't see mosquitoes. We greatly reduce the population.
Also, we don't use an uncontrolled mist which can target and kill beneficial pests like honey bees and other pollinators and are really hard to control applications with our windy west Texas days.
Get ready for lots of "pests" this year due to the early rains. If you have questions about mosquitoes or any other critter problem, call or text Pest Patrol at 325-673-6700. We would love to visit with you. You can get a quote or schedule an exact time appointment! AND we won't litter your yard with signs.
